Cain Brockley

Cain Brockley is a Sonographer and a Chief Investigator on the Victorian hip dysplasia registry (VicHip). He has a sub-specialty interest in hip dysplasia and the use of ultrasound to detect and evaluate the condition. Cain is thrilled to collaborate with VicHip to improve the quality of hip ultrasound and develop a consistent approach and interpretation of measurement data for all age groups. He hopes this will lead to more effective hip dysplasia treatment and management for the benefit of patients and clinicians.

Experience

Cain has been a sonographer for nearly 25 years, including 23 years as Chief Sonographer at The Royal Children’s Hospital. 

His area of expertise is paediatric ultrasound, which he has taught all over Australia and New Zealand. Cain also contributed to the paediatric content for the ultrasound course at Monash University.

Cain was a Fellow and Director on the board of the Australian Sonographers Association for six years, serving some time as Vice President and President.

His expertise extends to being a Co-investigator on a significant study that used Artificial Intelligence to diagnose hip dysplasia using 3D Hip ultrasound.

Cain was named Australasian Sonographer of the Year in 2015.

Cain loves gardening and can often be found outdoors in his spare time.
