Dr Natalie Hyde

Dr Natalie Hyde is a Post-Doctoral Research Lead with the Victorian hip dysplasia registry (VicHip). She oversees the research projects that arise as part of the registry. Natalie is passionate about preventative health research, specifically in musculoskeletal outcomes, which led to her position at VicHip. She is thrilled to be a part of the VicHip team and at the prospect of making a difference in the lives of children and adults with hip dysplasia.

Experience

Natalie received her PhD in 2017 on vitamin D and child development and has since worked in various research roles at Deakin University, including birth cohort studies like the Vitamin D in Pregnancy study and the Barwon Infant Study.

She is currently leading the initiation of a study at Deakin to investigate health outcomes in the children of the participants of the Geelong Osteoporosis Study (GOSLINGS: Geelong Osteoporosis Study- Looking Into the Next Generation) and the 20-year follow-up of the Vitamin D in Pregnancy Study. Natalie also leads a research program focused on maternal glycaemic status and child bone health.

Natalie's research focuses on child health outcomes because she believes it is the most effective area to make a difference in health across the life course.

Interests

Natalie loves baking, especially when it involves making birthday cakes for her two young boys.
