Rashida Ali

Rashida Ali is the Data Manager at VicHip. She ensures that systems and databases are well-designed and maintained so that consistent data can be collected. Her role also involves developing new methods and strategies to improve VicHip's data collection so that clinical data can be managed, accessed, reviewed and shared more efficiently.

 

Experience

Rashida has a masters degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from India and has worked in pharmaceutical and research labs worldwide, including India, Belgium and Australia. Having worked in labs for more than ten years, she has developed a deep understanding of research and diagnostic standards, and has become highly skilled in various molecular biology techniques.

Rashida also managed the Alfred Neuroscience Bio-databank and the Alfred Epilepsy Registry at the Department of Neurosciences, Central Clinical School, Monash University. She was responsible for managing health data, including clinical registries and sample inventory databases, providing ethics and research governance support, and technical and lab support for clinical and research teams. Rashida also supported biobanking and data management for various investigator-initiated projects on translational research into epilepsies and related disorders. 

 

Interests

Rashida shares her home with her husband and two daughters and loves to cook in her spare time. Rashida speaks four languages - English, Hindi, Gujarati and Dutch which she learned during her studies at the University of Antwerp in Belgium in 2016.
