Rebecca Peters

Rebecca Peters is a Project Coordinator with the Victorian hip dysplasia registry (VicHip) at The Royal Children's Hospital. She supports the recruitment and participation of patients and their families in the VicHip registry. You might see her around the hospital in the outpatient clinics. Bec also assists in various research activities aimed at contributing to scientific research advances and maintaining the data integrity related to the VicHip registry.

Experience

Rebecca (Bec) began her career in the Department of Adolescent Medicine at The Royal Children's Hospital in 2012. She became interested in research quickly and joined the Heart Research group at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute in 2014.

Bec has worked with patients and families for over ten years and enjoys supporting them through their health research journey. She is passionate about empowering them through their participation in research.

Bec is a strong advocate for ensuring the patient and family voice is heard through research and consumer engagement, and she believes it is a powerful way to enhance research outcomes.

Bec recognises the utmost importance of patients and their families who selflessly contribute their generosity, invaluable knowledge, and expertise to research studies. Their participation is vital in advancing the standard of care for all individuals and families impacted by illness or disease.

Interests

Bec loves visiting family and friends in Western Australia when she is not studying for her Masters in Nursing Practice. She also enjoys visiting her siblings in the Northern Territory and exploring Australia. A recent trip to Tasmania was one of her favourite adventures.
